Bodegas Ugalde Bianai

Bodegas Ugalde Bianai is one of the most historic and highly acclaimed wineries in Spain’s celebrated Rioja region. Located in the Rioja Alta sub-region , it was founded in 1882 by Don Felipe Ugalde, and as well as being one of the oldest wineries in the Rioja region it is one of only four ‘grandfathered-in’ before Spanish law prohibited the use of Rioja in brand names and on wine labels.
In 1948, the Ugalde family became related by marriage to the Muerza, another winemaking family of the neighbourhood. Both Bodegas joined forces establishing the production in San Adrián under the name of Bodegas Muerza.
